New phone concept :)

Well from the Phoneblok concept it was hit or miss but has a large following and some of the youtube videos have a massive following and hits but now that Motorola is on board which is owned by Google  I can see it really taking off and the plan is all manufactures can make the modules so you would start to see exciting modules such as microscope module (their is already an adaptor for iphones but its big) then the likes of remote control for your TV and SKY box or a laser pointer finger print recognition module, professional camera module, Health module to check heart rate and blood pressure  and so if you see what I mean. some modules could be temp bolt on as they would be large like some of the health ones so you would plug in when you use it. But just think of any gadget you want on your phone and will be possible

I think generation one will be I guess 10% thicker and 15% heavyier than normal brands but if it takes off generation 2 platform will be a lot lighter and thinner -  for me weight is not an issue and TBH no major problem with a bit thicker and the fact you can replace your screen easily instead of getting ripped off.

So I see what you mean abot the cool factor but works both ways - showing off a custom built phone that no one else has - Their so many small companies that could make some cool modules for it as they couldnt take on the likes of Sony or Nokia with a phone them selves but in the module market they could create some cool gadgets

Imagine you turn upto a website - buy your size back plane for the phone and then add the modules to your budget - although easy to clip the modules in your self for the none hands on type the phone could come pre assembled for small fee. Select colour and so on processor speed oooo getting excited 

I tink this concept will be very good because our cellphone wiill be always updated and we dont need to buy  a whole cellphone because have some issues or is outdated

Yeh as Tom said it wont be for all but I think it will stop all this high priced high end phones and long term contracts will give the user more life span out of core phone
