Re: ***SERVICE***

Ok as a result of a day long fix found this

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/3cceb932-a1b3-48a8-9238-0550fde7ff75/windows-update-on-server-2008-r2-blocking-outbound-http-in-net-app?forum=winservergen

The basics are could not find which MS patch bust SCAPP so ended up backing them all out sorry for the multi reboots today but we all fixed and SCAPP Remote now working

Re: ***SERVICE***

Ok Wanted to update you all whats being going on and to appologise for all the outages and lag we have been having recently

The Past 2 weeks have been really bad - just some of the issues we have had..........

2 x Network outages one resulting in us been offline for many hours - this was a result of a major hardware failure on the network of our hosts.

A total power loss at our host - this again resulted in a many hour outage. The host does have a UPS backup but this failed to kick in after mains failure. Our host suffered a major outage from this and can assure you they were not happy with their suppliers

Multiple Virus attacks based on the Bitcoin miner virus - the bitcoin part is not a virus but the basics are the virus runs Bitcoin miner to make the attacker money using our dedi. The end result of this attack was hgh CPU causing lag on many occasions

As a result of this I have had to install many security updates that resulted in a few reboots - this then resulted in users not been able to use SCAPP remote access to stop start servers. As a result I had to back out most of the security updates while we found a solution again this caused another outage Sad

Having removed the security upates we were getting multi attacks again Sad

So today after yet another outage I have now applied all the security updates and resolved the SCAPP remote connection.

Virus scans showing all clean so I hope I have resolved this but will be monitoring this closely

Again thanks for your patience with all this shite and as many of you know the whole point of us running hosting is to ensure we dont get shite service like this so rest assured I am on it like a rash trying to ensure we maintain service !!!

We are also looking at other options which I will keep you posted - one of which we have had a very kind offer from a major supporter and developer of  MOHAA to host the AAAA Website on a seperate server

Re: ***SERVICE***

And top all that off now this

At Risk Period 09/03/14

From the datacentre:

Tomorrow, Sunday 9th March, we have been advised of emergency maintenance being carried out by SSE in Central London, as the result of an vehicle damaging a fibre duct. For the past few hours, we have been testing our secondary circuit which has performed as expected.

Please consider 12:00 to 23:59 tomorrow to be an at risk period. During this time, our primary circuit will be unavailable for a period of time - expected to be thirty minutes. During this time internet traffic will be routed via our secondary circuit. Brief packet loss may be noted during the change over.

We will remain in contact with SSE engineers at the job site, and Safehosts' engineers will be present at all of our core network nodes during this time. We will be in a position to inform you (via the ticket system) of when the primary circuit is taken out of service, and when it is returned. We will be able to be more specific regards exact timing as the work progresses, and will keep you informed.

Please submit a ticket with any questions or concerns

Happy shooting - Kill em ALL and kill em again

Cheers
