Basics are users are paging through the map pages as they are not searching for a specific maps they wanted to browse over time to look and see what maps were out their.
Problem was that we have so many maps uploaded thanks to Shadow that we had 100's of pages and their was no method of say jumping to page 200 without scrolling through 100's of pages to get back to where you were.
In the early days the site was slow so we were only displaying approx 50 maps per page.
As a dirty fix I have increased the pages to display 245 maps which has reduced the pages to under 20 making it easier.
I was not expecting this to work as expected the page load tie to be way to long but from myself and feed back its still running and loading very fast.
I am still looking into this a bit more to find a better solution but its a bit complicated to implement as the pages dont exist as they are loaded and built from the database on the fly.
