Speed of the King Tiger tank is reduced when hit (400 / % of damage).
The weapons are balanced as follows:

Bugs and Fixes
==============
- Changing teams or going spectator while in control of tank no longer
crashes map. Big thank you to Scorpio Midget for fixing this
- New sound fix by JV Map implemented. All sounds now work on dedicated servers
- Exiting King Tiger tank now switches to last used weapon
- 88mm AT gun now shoots single fire with unlimited ammo, but still has poor
player and weapon clipping
- Grenades were removed because of a bug that crashes the server
- Some players have reported the medic bot doing crazy things
- The terrain LOD can allow shells to travel through. Try throwing a grenade
on Omaha beach. I have put a large number of weapon clip brushes under the
terrain which improves the results but there are none on the river banks.
- If you drive your Tank like a ratbag it may get stuck.
I put lots of vehicle clips around the obvious things but I wasn't going
to put them everywhere. If you drive into the creek you'll probably get stuck.
If you get stuck, try reversing and turning.
Design Information
==================
King Tiger was really just a scripting test and the bases were very simple.
After lots of play testing on the LAN I found that usually one team attacked the
other base. The bases were not designed for defence as they were just sheds for the
tanks. So the goal for King Tiger 2 was to have bases that could be defended.
Each base took about 2 weeks to build. Unfortunately the BSP was taking forever to
compile despite all the work I spent using area portals and clever design.
I stopped the BSP compile after 360 hours of rendering.
The map is compiled now using only manual VIS, and takes less than 3 minutes to
render the BSP. Try walking around the map with "show_tris".

2nd Coy, 102nd SS Das Reich, Sw Pz Abt
These are excerpts from the diary of Joachim Scholl. Joachim was a tiger commander in
charge of Tiger # 232 in the Das Reich battalion. Although not as famous as some of
the other commanders through his career he destroyed some 76 Allied tanks before being
captured at Caen. He was sent to Comrie in Perthshire as a Nazi POW. He began his
Panzer life in the turret of a Panzer III in Russia before advancing to Panzer IV's
& eventually Tigers. He died on the 15th Feb 2001 aged 88 years old.
May 23rd 1944 :
We trained today. My tiger has been repaired & after 4 weeks without her I was glad to
get back into my own seat. We are moving again. Talk & rumours of the invasion at Calais
are still strong. I hope it comes soon all the sitting around is starting to become
very tedious. I am fed up of practising against wooden targets. We have had new recruits
posted in to replace our Eastern losses. They are all so young but they are eager.
June 1st 1944 :
Moving again. The commanders are positive the Allies are coming this week. I dont think
so the weather is terrible. It has rained heavy for 3 days now & the wind is getting
stronger. At least the rain has washed Freda. (this was the name christened to Joachims
tiger). Bertie has got the cold. we have quarantined him to the Grenadiers mess!
We have sat about now for a week very boring. The newer replacements are too over eager
for my liking I think they will be killed soon in battle. Waste of a tank. We have been
told to remove our victory rings from our guns because of camouflage reasons.
What rubbish. Still orders are orders so I sent the Bertie out to paint them out.
June 4th 1944 :
We have moved closer to Calais today. I hated the train journey all that work to get
Freda ready. The mechanics are putting her wheels back on now. Rather them than me I
dont fancy lifting a two ton track up! We are all excited about tackling the British
& American tanks as the boys from Italy told us that they are very weak. I cant wait
to add more rings on my gun I have 27 so far. I dont think I'll be able to catch up
to Walter or Uscha's kills because thier gunners are better than Karl but I'm going
to give it a damn good try.
June 6th 1944 :
The sneaky Allies have landed in Normandy. That's miles away from us. we are still
awaiting orders to move towards the front. The windhund division is already there
lucky them. There is increased allied air activity & we have had to hide our tigers
in the woods. Two of the replacements have already been killed because they weren't
quick enough into their hiding place. They had too much wine last night & slept over.
We all want to know why we are just sitting here instead of powering down to Normandy.
I am becoming very frustrated.
June 9th 1944 :
At last we are on our way. Those bloody planes are weakening our strength . we lost four
more. We have been told that we can only travel at night now. Our Grenadiers are near
the front now we should be there by tommorrow night if all goes well & we dont get killed
by aircraft.
June 10th 1944 :
At last we are at the front. Our first action for months. Karl missed 2 churchill tanks
idiot. Still got one of them & a couple of little carriers. It was good to get back into
action again but we are a little rusty. Lost another tank to allied planes. Our ammo
carriers are held up so we are running a bit shorter than I would like.
June 14th 1944 :
Still in my wood in ambush position. The supposed British movement hasn't come yet.
At least we have a full supply of ammo. Heard that Uscha killed 6 vehicles today.
He's well ahead of me now. looks like I've lost my 100 marks. Haven't fired my main gun
in 2 days. I told Karl to pretend by sweeping accross & dummy firing. Got a few ground
troops with our MG though.
June 15th 1944 :
We made an attack on a British column today. Karl has got his eye back. We destroyed 4
Cromwell tanks & 6 trucks. The English called in planes & they bombed my wood still
Ulrich did some fancy driving & we got away. It has just got dark now. I know of another
good ambush place I'm going to take my Zug there & set up ready for tommorrow.
We have been joined by a couple of HJ panzer IV's. I like these kids for ones so young
they have a good battle head. We are going to use them as bait & draw the Allies into
our trap. My Zug is down to me & thomas now the other two replacements got hit in the
last wood.
June 16th 1944 :
Our plan worked the daft allies ran after the HJ panzers. We lost one their crew are
acting as infantry for us. We got 3 Sherman tanks I think they were French because they
had big red, white & blue markings & french names on them. Thomas got 4 before they
ran away. We are going to move again so we dont get bombed. We will need to back to
HQ soon for fuel & ammo.
June 17th 1944 :
Back at HQ I have been placed into Uscha's company & promoted to Hauptsturmfurher.
Nice of them to do this don't know why. The liebestandarte are the talk today after
Wittman blew apart an entire column Lucky man. According to the engineers the british
were just sitting right in the road. I wish my targets would do that. Still there are
that many enemy tanks Uscha said we were going to do the same. the british are moving
against Caen so we've to go there now.
June 19th 1944 :
Lost two more tanks today to planes. We are getting fed up with this. I haven't seen a
single luftwaffe plane since the Allies landed. Where the hell are they. Our bosses
have written a formal complaint to that fat Georing. For all the good it'll do that
coward is probably halfway down the biggest bunker by now if he got through the door
that is.
June 20th 1944 :
Killed 8 tanks today. They were cromwells & tommy cookers. The british dont seem to
care how many they lose. they attacked 3 times today each time they lost more & more
tanks. I havent had such success since the East. We didn't lose a single tiger.
Saw one of those new Kingtigers I wouldn't mind getting into one of those.
Most of our division is here now.
June 21st 1944 :
Killed another 6 tanks. The british launched more multiple attacks. Haven't seen an
allied plane maybe Georing got our letter!! We have lost three tigers that broke down.
I wish they'd hurry up & sort the engines out.
On June the 22nd Joachim Karl & Bertie were captured by Canadian troops after an
allied plane he thought it was a Thunderbolt blew his tracks off. The Radio Operator
Helmut Jurgens & Driver Ulrich Gansheime were killed in action.
His diary was found & returned to him after interregation.
It is believed that a Canadian War correspondent copied his comments about Georing
& published them in the Canadian news. Although this has not been verified yet.
Joachim was sent to Comrie in Perthshire the infamous Nazi POW camp because he was
an officer. He recieved some stick from his fellow inmates because of his comments
but when explained he would have been still blowing up Allied tanks & not stuck there
if the Luftwaffe had been an effect his comments were met by overwhelming agreement
especially from other interned Panzer crewmen. The Luftwaffe inmates stayed quiet.
He said he was teated very well in Comrie even by the Polish guards who weren't
adversed to hating the Nazi pow's & he said his only fear was from his own countrymen.
He was forced to witness the execution of a Sergeant who was accused of being a traitor.
He was released in 1946 & stayed in Scotland until his death in Feb 2001.
