Hi all as we now have many servers hosted across both dedicated servers it is no longer possible for us to backup the servers fully . The bottom line is as an admin you should have a copy of your own server in order to recovery it.
Why would you need to recovery......
Well as you know computers go wrong and sometimes it can be an Armagadon of a disaster where all stored data is lost .....here this can be life ending BUT only if you do not have a backup.
So for example you should be in position to have your server running from scratch with a 10 min upload from your own backup.
so what do you need to backup.....
Well I would suggest backing up both your MOHAA directory and your main BUT exclude the Pak.pk3 files in your main as these are standard and the big ones. You should find from that that your backups are not large . Their are many other files that are stock standard so you could go bare bones and just backup cfg's and mods, admin files such as reborn .
If you would like to test recovery of your server I will happily provide a test recovery server .
From our side we will backup all Scapp accounts , FTP accounts and all TS servers.
With reference to TS we will not backup user uploaded data.
Can I ask all clan admins to check their file storage on TS and delete any ill unwanted files _ cheers
