Anti Lag tip / performance

Hi all for those who dont know most modern multi core CPU's will allow affinity setting which basically means you can assign certain processes to specific CPU's, by default all CPU's are used for all Processes

Some examples on how this can help are if you have a process that uses a lot of CPU you can limit it to one core so say MOHAAC as an example but could be any process you notice uses a lot of CPU or gets busy then by keeping it in one CPU will allow it to use all that CPU resources in just one core but not use any of the other core CPU's thus allowing other processes to continue with the unused cores.

Some other things you could try are placing MOHAA in its own core's and removing other high usage processes.

If you are not sure if your CPU supports this then just right click on your task bar and launch task manager and right click on a process and see if the affinity option is present.

Some info here -:
http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/window-on-windows/change-the-processor-affinity-setting-in-windows-7-to-gain-a-performance-edge/5322

Windows does not remember these settings after restart so if you think it has helped then check out these -: http://download.cnet.com/SetPriority/3000-2094_4-10473386.html or http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/window-on-windows/change-the-processor-affinity-setting-in-windows-7-to-gain-a-performance-edge/5322 but theirs lots of info check out google

Another Option is setting the process priority also available by right clicking - this can cause problems so use with care but for myself have improved system performance and not had any problems using it.

You will read many pages via google that will say leave alone but yeh you can make things even worst but many improvements can be made by restricting high usage processes that you need to run but not hog your PC

Happy shooting - Kill em ALL and kill em again
