Map Description / install info Review by: mohaa_rox Aarschot Dam This medium-sized objective map is situated in a village called Aarschot. The Allies have to destroy the dam, while the Axis have to protect it at all costs. It supports 32 players for a time of fun and has 2 elevators. Presentation / Technical
This map is one of it's kind. The brushes are very detailed and the author manages to create brushes with suitable textures. Even the eye-candies are well done, with a U-Boat and fog surrounding the area, and a distance house fenced up. I love this map, it's so detailed, especially the interior. Looks like the favourte objective map V2. There are vents in which you can camp in, and to towers where you can snipe. Inside, the Allies are supposed to destroy the Dam Engine, which will be a very fun time defending the engine. However, the FPS is very poor and I got about 2-4, don't know whethere it's wrong with my computer. Some large brushes use the same texture, so it looks a bit weird. The little village next to the dam is very well done. The houses look like the DM map "Crossroads" and Zubidoo's previous "Vervins" map. Too bad I couldn't access the houses, or it will be fun to snipe. Playability / Game Flaws
"So, should I download it?" The answer, "yes", it's a must! However, due to the poor FPS I suffered, the game wasn't so fun, lagging all the time while trying to run around inside the dam. Besides that, the architecture is well done, the lighting is superb, and the details are high. Conclusion
I love this objective map, one of it's kind. The textures and architecture are well in place, and everything looks so cool that you really feel that you're inside. Download this map at all costs (provided if you don't mind low FPS or have a powerful computer)! |
