AAAA Reboot on website

Hi all - we are busy working in the background to reboot AAAA

So at present this site is live but as already we are working on the test site what I dont need is this site and the test site getting to far out of sync that I end up with to much new data to sort out......

May I suggest for a short period no new data is submitted to the DB ?

with ref to forums feel free to use but this data wont be lost but may be flagged as legacy

I work full time so have a lot to do in short time but will keep you all posted

So some thoughts for all as we are whole what does the community want..............

AAAA brand - is every one happy to stay as AAAA ???? - I dont own AAAA I am just a part of it and was built with the community for the community so everyone gets a say

I am not in control you all are so feel free to post the good the bad and the ugly but dont flame or argue wink

The site does need to be rebooted for many reasons but main is Drupal 6 is at end of life - here we got some things great some things bad but now every ones chance to input the direction for the community

Happy shooting - Kill em ALL and kill em again

Cheers

Re: AAAA Reboot on website

Will the upgrade fix the forums so the replies don't pile up underneath
each other and get smaller width as a reply is added?

I'm guessing drupal 6 was ment to be more for just being a database is why,
but  I have seen some nice forum plugins for 8.

I like the dark themes myself.

If there is something that doesn't quite work right, I found an SMF intergration plugin
I'm guessing it allows SMF features into drupal? Just something I ran across while looking for something.

Yes as Linda said, this would be a good time to choose that as
I've started a graphics pool of images I've made.
Not that any of them would get used, but I want to make them accurate lol

Hi dude - yeh well await feed back from the other admins and users here - for me happy to stay with AAAA brand.... but welcome input from all - I guess though what ever changes to keep with retro feel Smile

So if it stays AAAA

this is the old logo so options to reboot that the things we will require is small logo and then banner on the lines of what we have on home page here - not saying it needs to look like that
MOHAA

This page has all the old graphics to inspire you lol

Also we never used this much but another option on logo reboot - not saying it has to spin lol but another option from the diamond style AAAA logo

MOHAA

Happy shooting - Kill em ALL and kill em again

Re: AAAA Reboot on website

Hey Jon. Sorry, been MIA for a bit. I've got some free time now. Let me know what I can do to help with your migration/upgrade. Also, have you considered not using Drupal as a forum option? there's a nice bridge for phpBB and Drupal 8.1 if you'd like to look in to that. I've ran SMF and phpBB boards before and think phpBB is by far the better way to go. Let me know if you need a hand with that as well. You've got my e-mail. I look forward to helping however I can.
